Shannon Kubiak-Primicerio's Favorite Christmas Memory

"I'm not sure if this is my favorite memory, since it's actually really sad, but it is such a firm reminder of God's presence, that it ranks among my most vivid Christmas time memories.

A few years ago my grandfather was slowly dying and he was in a nursing home at Christmastime. I was writing the True Life Bible Studies at the time and I was studying the names of God. I got to the name "Immanuel" which means "God is with us" and I just broke down and sobbed at my computer. 2,000+ years ago, Jesus came at Christmas time to literally be God with us. But that Christmas I also knew that because of His work on the cross, He was still God with us--and my family and I desperately needed that reminder in the face of a Christmas tragedy.

My grandfather is now in heaven, and I thank God for the peace and comfort He gave me as I was saying goodbye. I still think of it every Christmas and it still makes me cry."

"Christmas is probably one of my favorite holidays. I don't even know that I could name a favorite memory. Because every year just brings so many good times and good laughs with all of my family in town, packed into the house, and great smelling food filling the air all through the day.

My family is Greek, and when everyone is in town it's amazing! We are loud and laugh and eat a lot! I love it."

Lanae' Hale's Favorite Christmas Memory

"This past Christmas has had so many amazing memories because it is the first Christmas my husband and I spent together as a married couple. We listened to Christmas music and decorated our first Christmas tree, in our first house together. There were a lot of "firsts" and it was amazing to share them with the man of my dreams!"

Deidra Hughes Favorite Christmas Memory

"We had just moved to Florida and we didn't have any family or friends there. I was so bummed that we had just moved from California--where I had 8 years worth of friends, and all of my mom's side of the family--to having no friends at all.

My dad's family was from the mid-west and I hadn't seen any of them in years. They surprised us for our first year in Florida and came to spend the holidays with us...it was awesome!"
