Hi InTheTimes.com Girls!
I'm currently listening to the single "Add to the Beauty" by Sara Groves from the album of the same name !
Sara Groves is such a magnificent songwriter, to say the very, very least ! My fav lyrics? "It brings redemption to life and work / To our lives and our work / It comes in loving community / It comes in helping a soul find it's worth / A soul find it's worth / Redemption comes in strange places, small spaces / Calling out the best of who we are / And I want to add to the beauty"
What a terrific message! As Christians, our life which most often is spent doing some sort of work / vocation, shouldn't merely be about securing a paycheck to spend on the various pleasures of life... As Christians, our life should be about 'helping a soul find it's worth'... Starting with our own soul !
Yes, I've found that redemption does come in 'strange places, small spaces' so we should always be aware and grateful, 'not despising the little things' that are poured our way in life. How cool to know that God does call us to be our best, to add to the beauty of the world He has created !

STRONGER
" I once heard my Youth Pastor say that if you are not experiencing trials and persecution, you should re-evaluate how you are living, because satan is out to attack those who are diligently following Christ. With that in mind, it is safe to say that those who are actively seeking God are going to be tested.
About a year-and-a-half ago, I was feeling that pressure and sadly believing the lies satan was throwing at me. Consumed by the media and magazines, my desire to be super-thin overwhelmed me, and that was what I thought defined beauty. Thankfully, I never suffered from anorexia, but I got dangerously close.
After seeing my older sister fight the eating disorder a few years before, I promised myself I would never fall into that, but the world's influence on me was powerful. It wasn't until I was so tired of striving to look perfect, that I literally called upon the name of Jesus to rescue me from the grip satan had on my life. And He was so faithful in restoring my self-image and assuring me that I am wonderfully and beautifully made in Christ's image.
On my own I was so hopeless and worn out, but He made me stronger. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." "
THE OTHER SIDE
" As followers of Christ, we walk on the other side of what is normal in the eyes of the world. Often it is difficult to live out a life of faith, and it seems as though we are standing alone, but ultimately it is so much more rewarding. We can expect persecution and hardships on this earth, but be strengthened by the realization that this world is not our home.
Consider the life of Paul, a man who endured unbelievable suffering for the sake of Christ, yet he experienced incredible joy and peace because of his salvation. He said in Acts 20:24, "I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace." "
IT'S YOUR LIFE
" Living in the fast pace of the Washington, DC area, I am constantly on the move and always staying busy--sometimes so busy I don't stop to sit down, relax, and take pleasure in the little joys of life! I’ve heard the phrase, "live everyday like it is your last" and that helps me remember that this life is so short, so we should live it to the fullest. "

SHE'S A DIAMOND
" Proverbs 31 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible; it talks about the woman of noble character. This woman is described as honorable, wise, and godly. She is of utmost value to everyone in her household, and "she is worth far more than rubies"
I truly believe that each girl is a diamond of great value. As women of God, our prayer should not only be that the Lord would refine us into the brightest and purest diamonds, but for gentlemen to realize that women are special, unique, and should be treated with the highest respect.
This song is the story of a girl who is waiting on God’s time to bring about a love that is pure and true, and a guy who sees that she is not only outwardly beautiful, but she has a beautiful heart. He knows that she is a diamond in the rough. "
WALK ME HOME
" A phrase that is often used to describe our relationship with the Lord is our "walk with Christ" I like to think of my life in Christ as if I am literally walking home with Him, where home is eternity in heaven. The walk home is beautiful. Sometimes there are obstacles along the road, but God is always there with me and I know that His love has no bounds. "

Monday, July 6th, 2009 at 6:28 PM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com
Hi InTheTimes.com Girls!
I'm currently listening to the single "Call" by Janna Long from the Janna album !
My fav lyrics? "Oh, when you're out of answers / When you're in too deep / When you see the road that you must take / But you can't find the strength to move your feet / Go on and call / Call, call / From the center of your soul / Call, call / On the Holy name of the Lord / Call, call / He'll catch you when you fall / He will carry you through it all / Call"
Wow! Life is full of tough decisions and we aren't always quick to make a move, but how cool to know that 'from the center of our soul' we can call upon the name of the Lord and He will be our strength! I like that! =)
