I'm currently listening to the single "Lift My Eyes" by Jill Paquette from her self-titled album !

My fav lyrics? "So lift my eyes / Trusting You will be faithful / I'll do all that I'm able / Believing there's freedom / In a life lived forgiven"

I like to simply 'lift my eyes' to the sky, towards heaven, towards God... It seems as if all of my earthly cares just melt away... It's in these simple moments that I feel so close to God, my freedom in Him is profoundly spoken, and the vastness of His forgiveness and love is so overwhelmingly real...

HEY THERE STRANGER

"Typically an introduction begins with the shaking of hands and exchanging of names, but sometimes I feel relationships never go beyond that surface level. What I really love is being able to share my heart with people, as well as getting to know their passions and true character. My first real dating relationship, I felt, was at first superficial. We both knew each other’s likes and dislikes, but as we spent more time together I got to know the depth of his heart, which is so important to discover in that kind of a relationship."

MIRACLE

"Jesus was a miracle worker. Countless stories in the Bible tell of Jesus healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, turning water into wine and raising people from the dead. These wonders show us the power and might of the awesome God that we serve! When a family member or friend is sick, when relationships end, or when families are torn apart, life seems so unfair. But Jesus is there to take our hand, to see us through the good and the bad times. The same Jesus that walked the earth two thousand years ago performing miraculous works is alive today, and He is still capable of doing miracles!"


I WILL WRITE YOU LETTERS

"Being a songwriter, I find it much easier to express myself with paper and a pen in hand, so often times when I’m talking with people I find myself fumbling for the right words to say. I especially used to freeze up around boys! Nowadays, with text messaging and the Internet we could probably avoid face-to-face conversations altogether. Sometimes I wish we could go "old school" and simply write letters to say how we really feel."

TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR

"I know a few guys with reputations of being flirtatious with all the girls. They have a routine where they act like they are totally into a girl and make her feel special when really they are just leading her on. Girls can be guilty of acting this way too. But the consequences of playing with someone’s emotions and being untrue is that someone always gets hurt. I hope that we will all be mindful of Philippians 2:3-4, which says, "...consider others better than yourselves...look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." This means being careful of other people’s feelings and emotions and putting them above our own."

HOLE IN MY POCKET

"In a society that ranks people based on their popularity, wealth and beauty, we all desire some form of success. And when we do achieve success, we hold it very near to us. In a sense, we tuck away our accomplishments--whether they are money or fame or status—in our pockets in order to feel good about ourselves. But ironically, God tells us that there is a hole in our pocket and all the things of this life will fade and fall through. It says in Matthew 6:19, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth..." The only thing that will satisfy is the eternal life that Christ has to offer for all those who believe in Him."

I'm currently listening to the single "Shine (For All the World)" by SHINEmk from the Do It Right album !

My fav lyrics? "Shine for all the world to see / Show that you have got something in your life"

As Christians, God calls us to 'shine' out like a light in the darkness of this crazy world (see Matthew 5:14-16). Jesus says that all of the numerous ways to do so, can be grouped together under the word, love (see Matthew 22:34-40). Showing love to our fellow man is the greatest way to shine out as a follower of Christ!
